Mental Edge Monday Topic #46: A 36-Minute Plank? Other than the Super Bowl (and the cool commercials), two stories caught my attention this weekend. One was about a woman (Betty Lou Sweeney) who set the world record for planking. She stayed in the front plank position for 36 minutes and 18 seconds (see image below). Did I mention that she is 71 years old? I thought I had set a pretty high bar when I challenged you to hold a 5-minute plank. I was whining, complaining, and shaking through the whole exercise. Betty Lou put me to shame. The other story that fired me up was about a 100-year old guy who ran the Toronto Marathon. What’s up with that?  A 100-year old running 26.2 miles
